What do you think?

Take a look at these doors and how they are installed. If this was your new home would you be happy with what you see? How many of you can see the door frame and locking mechanism from the exterior of the door?

How many doors are set into the frame with the threshold extending outward from the door with no support under the threshold?

In florida window/door bucks are installed between the door frame and the concrete block to act not only as a buffer against wood rot but to give extra strength to the door in the frame. Why would someone install door bucks and then not anchor the frame of the door into the buck?

If you have an 8" concrete block frame in which you install a door or window what reason would be given for not installing the entire frame within that opening? How many of you would install the door only partially into that frame and leave 2 inches exposed on the outside of the concrete block? What purpose does this serve? This makes it almost impossible to correctly frame out the door with any kind of brick moulding without leaving a 2" gap that needs to be caulked or filled in with soome other material. In the case of these doors the caulk is about an inch thick and the moulding does not cover the aluminium frame of the door on the exterior.

What do you think they were thinking?
